Don’t let the thought of “inspirational books” scare you away. I am a very picky book reader and most of these are on my top 10 favorite book list. These are also my favorite kind of books. So you picky book readers, or book lovers, try some of these and tell me what you think! I promise you will be inspired by them and love them.
Soul Surfer by Bethany Hamilton
This book is by the amazing surfer who got her arm bitten off by a shark. You get to read all about her life before and after the accident and see how she didn’t give up on her dreams. It’s amazing that she kept going when things got tough and never gave up no matter the situation. This story showed me I can accomplish my dreams, and even though hard times come, you can get over them and keep going.
WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK: If you need a little motivation to keep going or help to do hard things, then this book is for YOU!
Live Original by Sadie Robertson
Sadie really goes in-depth about her life and standards with lots of stories and examples. Each chapter is about a different standard or quality, for example: Chapter One: Think Happy Be Happy, Chapter Five: You Can Only Fix You, Chapter Six: Let Your Smile Change the World, Chapter Fourteen: Do Something, and within each chapter are tons of stories, great insights, and laughter. I think everyone loves Duck Dynasty and their Christian family, so this book will only make you love Sadie even more. She is so inspiring! But seriously guys, this is my #1 favorite right now. Go read it because I promise it will make you want to be a better person. She is a great example of a Godly young women, and it’s a great read!
WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK: If you need inspiration to be a better person, and/or inspiration to keep your standards high, PLEASE JUST READ THIS AMAZING BOOK! 😉
ALSO: I came across this really good book review blog. It’s really cool and is run by a teenage Mormon girl! She reads all the books and then reviews them as either good or goodbye. It’s super helpful! Click HERE to go check it out!
Growing Up Dugger by Jana, Jill, Jessa & Jinger Dugger
Have you ever heard of the TV show TLC’s 19 Kids & Counting? (Yes, they have 19 kids. They are very devout Christians who have shown the world how they stick to their beliefs and handle life and homeschooling with all those kids.) And just so you know, it’s my favorite TV show, ever!
This book is written by the four oldest girls. They are super sweet and Godly young women. They talk all about relationships with God, yourself, parents, siblings, friends, and boys! By reading their stories, you can come to see how your relationships really do affect you and who you become. You also get to see a more in-depth and candid view of their lives. It’s a good read and has some good insights to think about. They definitely made me think about my relationships and how they affect me. I especially loved the chapter that talked about friends.
WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK: If you are struggling with your relationships or want to improve the ones you have, if you would like to learn how they grew up in a family of 19 kids, or if you need something to encourage you to make sure your relationships are helping you grow closer to God, this book is for you.
Focused by Noelle Pikus Pace
Yes, this is the LDS Olympic Silver Medalist from Utah. She talks about her journey to the Olympics and how she stayed “focused” through one of her scary accidents and in her daily life. You get to learn a little bit about the Olympics, Noelle, her family, and her sport. She inspired me to try new things to find out what I like, because you never know if that is going to be your favorite thing or something that you are really good at. (Yes, that means to try new foods too.)
