Swimwear is starting to look pretty simple these days. Since solid colors and stripes are trending, what are you doing to personalize your poolside ensemble? My Floridian roots have taught me a few things about styling by the pool, and my poolside essential (besides shades) is a cover-up!
Skip the decorative and overly trendy swimsuits, and look for a personal or colorful beach dress or romper. Why? They keep you on trend AND they are great for your bank account! Growing up, I had this habit of avoiding an “outfit repeat” to a pool party. But how can you afford a new swimsuit for every water occasion? While some of my friends could, I had to get smart with my dollars. My solution: have a few basic swimsuits and then go for a selection of cover-ups! An even more budget-friendly option is to re-purpose items in your closet that just don’t fit like they use to. Swimwear can get pricey, and this is an affordable way to not only change your look but offer you a variety of combinations. Scroll down for some cover-up inspo!

Kimono by Zaful
Breathable and sheer. I love a lace kimono, dress, or romper. It’s also perfect over a brightly colored swimsuit.
